Jagannath Temple is the temple dedicated to Lord Krishna (one of the incarnation of Lord Vishnu). This temple is said to be a replica of original Jagannath Temple of Puri (Orissa) in context of design/pattern and not in size. Kalinga Cultural Trust is the one who has taken charge to construct this Hyderabad version of Puri's Jagannath temple. The construction were said to be taken in temple premises only. The temple is raised on the platform which is 8-10 feet in height and this 8-10 feet portion is now being occupied as temple Office.

Jagannath Temple, the meaning of word Jagan is Universe, and Nath means Lord. The most attracting portion of this temple is its "Shikra" means the peak or top measuring around 70 feet in height. While the main structure of Jagannath Temple houses, bhagvan sri Krishna along with his brother Balabhadra and Subhadra, it also has five small surrounding temple to house Lord Ganesh , Lord Shiva , Goddess Laxmi and two shrines side by side is Navgraha and Shri Hanuman . Each of them having a dedicated priest and there are total 3 entrances to this temple; the main entrance opens right in front of the main temple as shown on the second pic top right.

Chilkur balaji is Twenty Five kilometers from Hyderabad which connects to the Vikarabad road and is situated on the banks of the Osmansagar and it is the interesting village of Chikur, this is the ancient temple dedicated to Sri Balaji Venkateshwara. From its style, structure and appearance, one can judge that the temple has been built half a millennium ago. Set in wonderful surroundings, the temple of chilkur attracts thousands of pilgrims from all over Andhra Pradesh every year and it is an ideal place for retirement and meditation. 

Chilkur balaji is one of the oldest temples in Telengana region, which has been built during the time of Akkanna and Madanna, the uncles of Bhakta Ramdas. According to the tradition, a devotee who used to visit Tirupati every year could not do so on one occasion as he was serious condition. The Lord Venkateshwara has appeared in his dream and said, “I am right here in the jungle nearby’, you don't have to worry." The devotee has come to the place indicated by the Lord Venkateshwara in the dream and saw a mole- hill there, which he dug up. Accidentally, the axe has hit Lord Balaji's idol covered by the mole-hill below the chin and on the chest, surprisingly blood started flowing from the "wounds", flooding the ground and turning red color all around. The devotee could not believe with his eyes when he saw this all of a sudden. He could not believe with his ears also when he heard a voice from the air which said, “Flood the mole-hill with cow's milk.”When the devotee did so, a Swayambhu idol of Lord Balaji accompanied by Sridevi and Bhoodevi which is a rare combination was found, and this idol was installed with the due rites and a temple built for it.

Sri Balaji venkateshwara, the Pratyaksha Daiva in kaliyuga, is thus available at Chilkur to shower blessings on his devotees who are unable to go to Tirupati. Many devotees’ come here to the temple, to receive the blessings of the Lord venkateshwara, particularly during the Poolangi, Annakota and Brahmothsavams. 

Devotees come with the a serious desire to revive their former glory and importance of the temple, the idol of Ammavaru was established in 1963 which was the year after the Chinese aggression, and when the aggression was unilaterally vacated, Ammavaru idol was given the name of Rajya Lakshmi, signifying this welcome event. The unique feature is that we can see the idol with lotus flowers in three hands and the fourth hand is in such a position pointing towards the lotus feet which signifies the doctrine of Saranagathi.

This temple has been visited by great Acharyas from time to time. A visit to CHILKUR TEMPLE is a must for the Jeer of Sri Ahobila Mutt, he comes here every time he visits the twin cities, and the temple is installed with the idol of the first Jeer. The Tilakayaths - Sri Vallabhacharya Sampradaya were always visiting the shrine. Jagadguru Sri Sankaracharya of Sringeri Mutt and his disciple has put their efforts in improving the temple.
