Banashankari Temple



Banashankari Amma Temple or Banashankari temple is a Hindu shrine located at Cholachagudd near Badami, in Bagalkot district,Karnataka, India. The temple is popularly called Banashankari or Vanashankari since it is located in the Tilakaaranya forest. The temple deity is also called the Shakambhari, an incarnation of the goddess Parvati.
The temple attracts devotees from Karnataka as well as the neighbouring state of Maharashtra. The original temple was built by the 7th century Kalyani Chalukya kings, who worshipped goddess Banashankari as their tutelary deity. The current 18th century structure was built by a Maratha chieftain. The temple celebrates its annual festival called Banashankari jatre, in the months of January or February. The festival comprises cultural programmes, boat festival as well as a Rath yatra, when the temple goddess is paraded around the city in a chariot.

Nili Chhatri Temple(Neeli Chhatri)



Nili Chhatri Temple (Neeli Chhatri) is a Hindutemple in New Delhi that was dedicated to Lord Shiva. Nili Chhatri Temple is accredited that the eldest Pandava brother, Prince Yudhisthira, completed the Nili Chhatri Temple and the Nigambodh Ghat adjacent to it, and conducted Aswamedha yajna from here. The Nili Chhatri Temple situated in the Yamuna bazaar area on the banks of theYamuna river that even today exists. The Nili Chhatri Temple has been considered only infrequently in different chronicles of Delhi.

Nili Chhatri Temple is the tomb of Naubat Khan. Naubat Khan was a mansabdar (state official) during the time of Akbar. He built Nili Chhatri Temple whille his lifetime in 1565.The tomb is known as Nili Chhatri due to the colour of its dome that was formerly beautified with blue caustic tiles. The tomb stands almost midway in between Purana Qila and the tomb of Nizamuddin Auliya. Nili Chhatri Temple is completes in an enclosure of several acres. Though the walls of the tomb are not remaining in its entirety, some portions of Nili Chhatri Temple can still be seen in the surrounding area. But the gateway is approximately in good shape. At the begenning of the tomb is written the inscription, the letters of the inscription are of black marble decorated on sandstone. Uttara Swami Malai Temple


Uttara Swami Malai Temple populated as Malai Mandir (literally, Hill Temple), is a Hindutemple in New Delhi situated on the affluent Palam Marg primarily devoted to Lord Swaminatha also known as Lord Murugan, most respected by the religious Hindus of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada community in the city.

The Uttara Swami Malai Temple, formally called Sree Swaminatha Swami Temple, organizes the Temple of Lord Swaminatha. It is located atop a small hillock in Sector-7 in R.K. Puram and disregarding Vasant Vihar in South West Delhi. This is in reminding of the tradition of locating Murugan temples on hills. The sign outside the Uttara Swami Malai Temple is written in Tamil, demonsrating Lord Swaminatha's motto, "Yaamirukka Bayamain" which meant to "Why fear when I am there?". The Uttara Swami Malai Temple is built completely of granite, and is evocative of the Chola style of South Indian Temple Architecture.

The Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple



The Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple also Gavipuram Cave Temple, an example of Indian rock-cut construction, is located in Bangalore in the state of Karnataka in India. Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple is extraordinary due to the somewhat perplexing stone discs in forecourt and the exact planning allowing for Sun to sparkle on shrine in certain time of the year.

In the 9th century perhaps The Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple was cut out of enormous rock. The Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. Main shrine is Shivalinga, in the front of The Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple, there is also Nandi sculpture. The Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple contains also a rare idol of Agni, The God of fire. There are also other idols including the idol of Agnimurthi, which has two heads, seven hands and three legs inside The Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple. Those worshipping this deity consider it will heal one of all eye defects. The Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple is one of few temples in Bangalore devoted to Shiva and is visited by large number of disciples during Shivaratri.

ISKCON Temple



ISKCON Temple is placed on Hari Krishna Hill, East to Kailash area in New Delhi. It was built recently in 1998 and is one of the most extravagant and transcendent temples of the city. An outstanding example of architecture, it sports 'Shikharas', rising a height of 90-ft above to ground level. The temple contains air-conditioned hall that can easily hold 1,500 people at once. The fine art paintings by Russian artists here illustrate lives and events related to Hindu traditional characters, like Sita-Ram, Radha-Krishna, Laxman, Hanuman and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Every Sunday afternoon, Special pastorals and prayer meeting are held at the temple dedicating to Lord Krishna mainly, the aristrocatic temple was built by the followers of 'Hare-Rama Hare-Krishna' religion. It is one of the largest sophisticated temples in India, it also exaggerates of a Robot, which was built especially to constitute and admonish ‘Gita’. The everyday temple timings are 4.30am to 12:00pm and 4.00pm to 9.00pm. There is a museum inside the temple which constitutes multimedia shows to explain the philosophy of Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Kali Bari Mandir


Kali Bari Mandir in New Delhi is devoted to Goddess Kali. It is approximately small in size and quite unobtrusive in its design. The temple holds special connotation for the Bengali people enduring in the city, especially in the time of Durga Puja, held every in the month of October-November. While the temple becomes the center for celebrations and is fully filled by devotees of all ages, in large numbers. A impressive Peepal tree grows inside the temple and is considered to be quite sacred.

Devotees attending the Kali Bari Mandir tie a red thread around the bark of the tree while having a wish. If they get fulfilled, they come back to untie the thread. An unbelievable fact about the temple is, liquor is offered to the Goddess. The Kali Bari temple situated near the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, is also visited by the North Indians. Though not extravagant like the various other temples in Delhi, it still attracted towards devotees from far and wide.

Lotus temple



Lotus Temple is located 12 kms distance to the southeast of Con naught Place. Architecturally one of the most distinguished temples of India, as it is built in the shape of a Lotus flower the temple is called as Delhi Lotus Temple. The temple completed in the year 1986 rising to a height of more than 40 m. Situated on Bahapur Hills, it is the latest and seventh Baha'i houses of worship in world. The Bahai Temple of New Delhi is a white marbled monument constructed like a half-opened lotus.

The Twenty-seven giant lotus petals of white marble rebound from nine pools and walkways of  the temple. The nine unifying spiritual paths of the Baha'i faith are represented by these walkways. Along with taking off the shoes while entering the temple, silence is a postulate inside the New Delhi Lotus Temple. As the temple is made up of marble, cement, sand and dolomite, is often assimilated with the Sydney Opera House.

There is a simply outstanding 34.27 mts high central hall in midst of the temple where people sit and meditate. Petal recess of the temple is engrossed with stimulating quotes of the Baha'i sacred scriptures.

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir


Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Mumbai and a part of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. This Swaminarayan Temple is placed in the Bhuleshwar area of Mumbai and is the oldest Swaminarayan Mandir in Mumbai, being over a hundred years old.

Siddhivinayak temple



Siddhivinayak old temple was consecrated on Thursday, 19th November 1801. Concurrence to our Hindu calendar it falls on Kartik Shudha Chaturdashi, Shake 1723 in “Durmukh Sanvatsar”.
The deity of Shree Siddhivinayak was carved out of a single black stone and is 750mm high and 600mm wide with the trunk on the right. This is rather unusual appearance of Lord Ganesh. The first right and left hands hold a lotus and an axe respectively while the lower right and left hands hold a rosary and bowl full of “Modak” respectively.

Sri Siva Vishnu Temple


Sri Siva Vishnu Temple is located in Lanthanum, Maryland and is about 12 miles from Washington D.C. It is one of the largest temples in the USA. The realistic temple construction began in 1988 and the last deity consecration took place in 2002.
The Temple is placed on Cipriano Road one mile away from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. There are two churches located on the same road. The Murugan Temple of North America is located in the vicinity.

Hare Krishna Dallas


In 1970 The first group of devotees came to Dallas, Texas and established a preaching center at 5108 Mission Street. In 1971 spring, the devotees moved the center to a more fashionable district of Dallas The Turtle Creek, and rented there for few months in a small building. In the while,the devotees had been looking for property to buy.In 1971 finally they bought a former church property at the corner of Gurley Avenue and Graham Street namely the Mount Auburn Church in a residential section of East Dallas.With the idea of starting a gurukula The purchase of this property was done .. And so, from the approval of Srila Prabhupada,the ISKCON Governing Body Commission at that time bought the former church property for ISKCO

The Deities Sri Sri Radha-Kalachandaji were officially installed in the newly purchased Dallas Temple by Srila Prabhupada himself in 1972.To Dallas two weeks before the actual installationSrila Prabhupada came, showing the devotees how to do everything properly.500 years old The oldest Deity form of Krishna is The Deity of Sri Sri Radha Kalachandji found outside of India.

From 1979-1981 The Renovation of the temple was taken place.Soon afterwards The restaurant was built.In 1977 After Srila Prabhupada left the world to The Heaven,The devotee members of the famous Radha-Damodara Sankirtana Party in large number came to in Houston and Dallas.More than 15,000 followers today stay at Worth area,Dallas-Ft.In the immediate neighborhood there are presently 25 temple-owned homes which became models of community redevelopment.Education from elementary through junior high levels is provided from The Gurukula,and in the city`s best restaurants Kalachandji`s restaurant is also ranked in them.The Dallas Hare Krishna temple, By the grace of Srila Prabhupada and Sri Sri Radha Kalachandji,High standards of preaching and worship is established by the devotees,exactly demonstration given in thier Sunday enthusiastic Feast program.

The Sri Rajarajeswari temple located in Rochester NY is situated on 23 acres of rolling verdant grounds that are dotted with various outdoor shrines devoted to Lord Ganesha, Lord Bhairavar and Lord Shiva in the form of the Shiva lingam. Omkareshwar Temple


Lord Shiva stands as a symbol of endurance as it had survived the havoc created by the 1962 Panshet floods.Omkareshwar temple is known as one of the biggest temples in Pune Known for its extravagant style of construction and huge domes, the temple becomes one of the main attractions in Pune.
The structure of Omkareshwar temple takes us back to the Peshwa regime as it was constructed during the reign of Sadashiv Bhau, the Peshwa. A 250 year old construction on the banks of the river Mutha still proclaims the glory of the fallen Peshwa Empire. It can be seen as a perfect piece of art and architecture prevailing in the 17th century.
